Tennis diva, Serena Williams was hit with a record high fine today of $82,5000. She was also put on probation for the next four Grand Slam events. This all stems from an altercation she had with a line judge during the US Open earlier this year.

It seems as if they are making an example out of yet another black athlete. Is it just me or does it appear as though this is becoming more prevalent for black athlete to be fined the maximum amount or slapped with the maximum penalty, even if it is their first offense. Let me know your views on this.

Tiger Woods Injured In A Car Accident

Tiger Woods facial cuts in a minor car accident early Friday when his SUV hit a fire hydrant and a neighbor's tree as he was leaving his mansion in a gated waterfront community near Orlando, Fla. The Florida Highway Patrol said the 33-year-old PGA Tour star was alone in his 2009 Cadillac when he pulled out of his driveway at 2:25 a.m.

The patrol reported Woods' injuries as serious, although Woods spokesman Glenn Greenspan said the golfer was treated at a hospital and released in good condition. The patrol also said alcohol was not involved, although the accident remains under investigation and charges could be filed.

My question is where was Tiger headed at 2:25 in the morning and how do you run into a hydrant and tree?

The group claims that there is no bad blood between them and their former label. Day 26 has signed with Atlantic Records and says that they are ready to work on a new album to be released next year and they want to focus on the music.

I wish them the best because leaving Bad Boy was the best thing they could've done for themselves.

Mom Found Criminally Insane In Death Of Her Son

A Contra Costa County Superior Court judge in Martinez has found a Richmond woman not guilty by reason of insanity on charges that she murdered her 8-year-old son in 2006. Teresa Moses, 26, was originally charged with felony child abuse, torture and murder in connection with her son Raijon Daniels' death. She pleaded no contest to first-degree murder Monday morning. In exchange for her plea, the district attorney's office dropped the remaining charges.

Suspect Arrested In Murder Of Berkeley Mother And Baby

Oakland resident Curtis Martin III, 38, has been held without bail at Berkeley city jail since he was arrested Friday afternoon. Martin will be arraigned Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Alameda County Superior Court, police said. He faces one count of murder so far.

Nine People Shot At The "House Of Soul" Concert

Police say the gunfire erupted outside the Regency Center around 10:30 p.m. Sunday after four or five men got into a fight following the "House of Soul" concert starring Trey Songz and Letoya Luckett sponsored by radio station KMEL. Police say another man pulled a gun, walked up to the crowd and opened fire.

Some of the injured were taken to San Francisco General Hospital and Kaiser hospitals in Vallejo and Oakland with non-life threatening injuries. Others were treated at the scene.


Police detained one person, who they say had weapons in the trunk of his car. They have not identified the person, and witnesses have reported he was not the shooter. Police have made no other arrests.

Pacquiao Slaughters Cotto

Unforturnately, I missed the fight last night but from the looks of things Manny Pacquiao gave his opponent Miguel Cotto the business. The sellout crowd at the MGM Grand Garden definitely got what they paid for, a straight up beat down. Pacquiao won the fight with a technical knock out after the referee stopped the fight 55 secords into the last round. His earnings for winning the match was $7.5 million. Brandy Settles Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Actress/Singer Brandy Norwood has wrapped up settlement agreements with the last remaining plaintiffs suing the singer over her December 2006 car crash. She has settled with the parents of Awatef Aboudihaj, the woman who was killed in the accident. Aboudihaj's family filed a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit in 2008; Brandy previously inked settlements with three other parties involved in the accident. Settlement amount was not disclosed.

Gucci Mane is headed back to jail after been taken from the courtroom in cuffs. Apparently, Gucci violated his probation and the judge sentenced him to 12 months in jail. He may only serve 6 though. Gucci career seems to be at its peak and he is due to release an album, The State vs. Radric Davis on December 8.

Nivea just gave birth to her baby by Lil Wayne. This makes number 4 for the both of them. While Nivea was giving birth, Wayne was partying it up with Shanell, sister of D. Woods formerly of Danity Kane. I don't know what to say about this one but it seems as if somebody's priorities are a little jacked up.

Not Again....

Former world heavy-weight champion Mike Tyson and photographer Tony Echevarria, 50 were detained yesterday after having a quarrel at Los Angeles International Airport.
Tyson along with his wife and 10-month old daughter were passing through the airport on a flight from Europe to Las Vegas when they were bombarded by the overly aggressive paparazzo. Echevarria says that Tyson struck his once causing him to fall to the ground. He sustained a laceration to the his forehead which was treated at the hospital. Mike Tyson states that he acted in self-defense to protect his family. Both men were booked and released on charges of misdemeanor battery.

He states that he wants to bring attention and awareness to this disease the same way as Magic Johnson brought attention HIV.

Shaunie Wants Out

Shaunie, Shaquille O'Neal's wife, has filed for legal seperation in Los Angeles, CA. The couple lives in Florida with their 4 children. Shaunie has also asked for spousal and child support along with full legal and physical custody of the kids. Shaunie was probably prompted to take action to left Shaq after allegations of him cheating with the pregnant wife of Gilbert Arenas, NBA player with the Washington Wizards, hit the net last week. This will be the second time the couple has called it quits. We'll have to stay tuned to see if this divorce becomings official this time or will they just take a break and get back together again. The couple has been married closed to seven years.

NFL Hall of Famer and former NY Giant, Lawrence "LT" Taylor, was arrested and released on bond this past weekend on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and property damage.

Skank Robbers Coming Soon *UPDATE*

Skank Robbers (Martin Lawrence as Sheneneh and Jamie Foxx as Wanda) made their debut during the BET Awards earlier this year and the reaction was great. So great that Screen Gems has bought the rights to the film which will be written Jamie Foxx. Both Jamie and Martin will produce the film through their companies. Yet another rapper has been sent to the slammer. This time its Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie. He was originally sentenced to serve 2 years of a 10 year sentence for weapons charges from a September arrest, however, the judge increased his time to 4 years for continuous probation violations recorded by his ankle bracelet.

The Kansas City Chiefs have released running back Larry Johnson. Johnson has had a turbulent career with this team and things came to a head when he used gay slurs and questioned the competency of the teams head coach Todd Haley via his Twitter account. Johnson was 75 yards away from breaking Priest Holmes' team rushing record. A few teams have showed interest in Johnson so he may not be out of work for long. I guess we just have to see how this on plays out.

After the public scrutiny of the the album art released earlier this week (below) she has put out what is supposed to be the "Official" album cover. Which do you like better.

Toni Just Didn't Care

Apparently there was much more to that kiss between Toni Braxton and Trey Songz that happened at the Soul Train Awards 2009. Turns out that Toni didn't care how people may perceive that kiss nor did she have regards for how husband may feel about it because she just explained in an interview with Essence magazine that she and her husband, Keri Lewis, are separated and are ending their 8 year marriage. The couple has two boys together. I wish them both the best and hopefully things don't get ugly between them. We'll just have to wait and see how this one plays out.

Oprah Shares The Big O

Oprah Winfrey has finally agreed to have someone else on the cover of her "O" Magazine with her. The December holiday issue will have her and Ellen Degeneres on the cover. The top cover will go out to all of the magazine's subscribes while the bottom one will be sold at newsstands.
