Remy Ma Losses Appeal

Remy Ma, real name Reminisce Smith, who was charged with shooting a woman during an altercation over $3,000. will not be coming home any time soon because she lost an appeal. Remy Ma, is serving 8 years in prison at Rikers Island after being convicted in 2008 of shooting her former friend in the abdomen over missing money. The appeal was denied after the courts rejected her argument that jurors were not properly informed before the guilty verdict was rendered. Looks like she will have to continue to do her bid and serve out the remainder of her sentence. I believe she is putting the time to good use. She seems to have matured since her incarceration based on prison interviews that have been released. She has maintained her innocence. Hopefully her fiance Papoose will continue to hold her down.

Real Housewife of Atlanta Kim Zolciak bares her belly for Life & Style Magazine's Feb. 20th issue. Kim is drama-free, six months pregnant and happier than ever! She opens up about her belly, her man -- Atlanta Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann, whom she's been dating since May -- and the possibility of another baby in their future!

"We'll be moved in before the baby is born," she says. So could a ring be far off? "Kroy's perfect for me, but we're not engaged," Kim tells Life & Style. "If we get married, Kroy would like to have one more child, and I want one too!"

I for one am so pleased that she has found her senses and left "Big Papa" alone. I'm sure that's a major part of why she's so happy, not having to deal with another woman and the drama and messing with a married man. Congrats to her and Kroy and may they have happy and healthy baby.

El DeBarge Is A Crackhead

Say it ain't so, El, say it ain't so. After earning two Grammy nods, El Debarge was scheduled to make an appearance at the Grammy Awards but he was too busy doing something else...getting high. According to rumors El was yanked from the awards show line up after record execs found him cowering in an empty office wild eyed, sweating and obviously high. They say El went missing during a break in a meeting at the Interscope Records building and when they found him he was out of his mind and admitted that he'd been smoking crack. He was immediately ordered to get treatment. Insiders say  El cracked under the pressure of going back on tour for the first time in years.

Tiny's Vibe.com Interview

Tiny is the poster child of a ride or die chick. No matter what our opinions about her may be, the one thing that remains true is that she is VERY loyal to her husband, T.I. She recently sat down with Vibe.com to talk about the honeymoon she never had with T.I. and why she’s not worried about groupies who try and penetrate their relationship.

          On the honeymoon that never happened:

We didn’t really get a chance to go on a honeymoon, because he had to go to work three days after the wedding. We were just enjoying life. The day that we got caught in California, when the incident happened, we were supposed to be going to the Virgin Islands, because he can’t really go a lot of places, so we had to find somewhere where we could just go. But they were having a hurricane and we weren’t able to go. And when I think back, I’m just like, ‘Why wasn’t we there? Because if we were, we wouldn’t be having this trouble right now. But you know, things happen for a reason. It is what it is.

On their relationship & groupies trying to get in:

I’ve been with him before he was all of that, and once he became this big sex symbol…I understood what was going to come with it because I had already been in the business. I’m just comfortable in my position and where I stand and what our values are. We’re on the same page. Plus, understand I’m with him maybe 85, 95 percent of the time. A lot of times, while all of the attention is going down, I’m right there. I never have to tell someone to back off. Normally he does it first. If it gets that far, he never lets it get disrespectful.

You have to give her to Tiny, she is a rider, loyal, and holds down her family. She does it while smiling and shows that she can stunt while her man is down. Hold it down Tiny.

Aretha Franklin says she is back “150%” after her surgery last December. The singer announced that she will return to the stage May 28. She told the AP that she will perform at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Buffalo, and is set to release her new album, Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love.

After previously denying the obvious, Cheryl Burke admitted that she was dating Chad Ochocinco. The two met when  they were partnered on Dancing With The Stars. She eventually broke off the relationship because he was dating other people at the same time. During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show she said:

Ellen: “You were denying that there was a romantic thing going on (with partner Chad Ochocinco) but there was some kind of romantic thing going on.”
Cheryl: “I mean, we had a fling. We worked so much together. We had great chemistry. But it was the same pattern I had in the past with my boyfriends in the past. He was just really unavailable to me. I just knew that didn’t work and I’ve moved on and he’s obviously moved on.”
Ellen: “Because he was dating other people at the same time? Is that right?”
Cheryl: “Well, you just look at his Twitter and see who he’s following and that speaks for itself.”

Nothing surprising about this revelation. You could tell something was going on between these two if you seen them on the show. There was a lot more than just chemistry going on between them. I'm also not surprised by the timing of this because this is more than likely something that she touched on in her new book. 

Wendy Williams Signs On For DWTS

Wendy Williams is reportedly going to appear on the next season of Dancing With The Stars. The NY Post is reporting her talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, will go on hiatus to accommodate her appearing on DWTS.

Vivacious talk-show giant Wendy Williams will try her two-step as a contestant on “Dancing With the Stars,” Page Six has learned. “The Wendy Williams Show” will go on hiatus while she participates next month. Ample-cleavaged Williams — who would no doubt look great in the show’s trademark sparkly outfits — has been critical of other contestants on the dance competition, especially wooden Kate Gosselin,who she said “dances awkward and horrible.”  – Source

 I can't wait to see this. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Wendy has a mean lil two step. I can't wait to hear who else is expected for next season. I'll keep you posted on that when information is released.

Lil Kim has released her mixtape Black Friday but unlike other artists who gives away mixtapes, she is selling it for $9.99 via Paypal. Kim Tweeted that as of yesterday she had sold 113,000 copies. A lot of people are questioning the numbers even Nicki Minaj seems to not believe the numbers. She Tweeted, “Bwaahhhhahhahahahahahahhahahhhaaahhhhhaaahahahahhhaha!!!!!!!! *lifeless* *leaves on stretcher* *cant go on*” Kim later Tweeted “#twitterbeef This is not beef. Rihanna has added Cee-Lo Green as her opening act for North American Loud tour. She has also added more dates. Rihanna says,”I’m a huge fan of Cee Lo since his days with Goodie Mob and with Gnarls Barkley. He’s a musical genius, continually reinventing himself, and I’m thrilled to have him join me on tour.”

Jamie Foxx recently found himself at the center of a three-way fight, after the actor/singer reportedly dissed his longtime friend and former music manager.

It happened Thursday night at Hollywood’s Avalon nightclub where Usher was hosting a pre Grammy party. That’s where sources say Foxx’s lover manager of ten-years, Brion Prescott, spotted Foxx being accompanied by the son of legendary music mogul Clarence Avant, Alex Avant, as the two walked into the Tinseltown nightclub. That’s when Brion reportedly approached the pair and tried to enter the club with them, that’s when Jamie reportedly told security that Brion was not a part of his entourage – OUCH!!!

Insiders say a short time later, Brion confronted Foxx and Avant as the two men sat at a table inside the club. The confrontation eventually lead to Brion screaming at Jamie, demanding the actor/singer to tell him what he was doing hanging out with Alex.

Witnesses say that’s when Alex tried to interject, provoking Brion to attack him and punch him in in his dome. Jamie reportedly tried to break the fight up and received a right hook to the head for doing so.

All parties involved were reportedly escorted out of the club, but Brion was spotted partying inside the club about 30-minutes after the altercation. Jamie and Alex did not return.

Hollywood insiders say this dude Brion played an instrumental role in the development of Foxx’s music career. So, was this fight a lovers’ spat or is it just bad blood between boys? What do you think?

Rihanna Is Being Sued by Photographer David LaChapelle

Photographer David LaChapelle is accusing Rihanna of ripping off his work. According to Billboard David filed a copyright infringement suit...

Rihanna’s lurid and brightly colored music video “S&M” was “directly derived” from pictures taken by prominent U.S. fashion photographer David LaChapelle, he said in a lawsuit made public on Monday.

LaChapelle, who has shot celebrities for magazines such as Rolling Stone, GQ and Vanity Fair, said “the music video is directly derived from and substantially similar to the LaChapelle works.”

Rihanna, 22, has sold over 25 million albums worldwide and dominated music charts in the U.S. with singles such as “Umbrella” and “What’s My Name.” The single “S&M”, however, has fizzled on the charts, and the video has been banned in some countries for its sexual content.

In the suit, LaChapelle said Rihanna had appropriated eight of his images into the video, such as a shot where she is shown in profile against a blue background with a piece of candy on her tongue.

LaChapelle said Rihanna’s video copied the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting” of his work.

He is suing for unspecified damages. A spokeswoman for Rihanna did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Well all I can say is that she needs to pay up. I'm sure someone from her camp or the video production crew saw that there were too many similarities to David's work and some changes to the concept for the "S & M" should have been made. What gets me is that they put this video out and no one sees it because it is banned on several channels and in many countries. What were they thinking?

The 53rd Grammy Awards were dismal and disappointing to say the least. Don't get me wrong the show definitely had its moments but overall it didn't move me. There were a lot of great songs and albums that seemed to be overlooked by the Grammy voters this year. It was similar to watching the Country Music Awards with a touch of the MTV Music Awards. All the awards went to either country or rock artists/groups. I have nothing against these genres and I actually like Lady Antebellum but good grief. There were hardly any awards for R&B or Hip Hop. 

There were some bold fashion statements made this evening as well. Lady GaGa always brings it and is always very avant guarde. Rihanna looked good. Nicki Minaj, not so much. I also couldn't help but notice that there were a lot people rocking Air Maxs. Maybe comfort was the overall theme of the evening. What are your thoughts on the show/performances.

New Reality Show For VH1: Love & Hip Hop

VH1 has a new show set to air called Love & Hip Hop. The show will follow the lives of former G-Unit front woman, Olivia, the mother of Fabolous’ child, Emily, Jim Jones’ “girlfriend,” Krissy, Swizz Beatz’ former wife, Mashonda, and an aspiring rapper chick Somaya Reece. The show will basically detail their lives as they either try to make it or move on. This one looks interesting and dramatic so you know I'll be watching, will you?

Ja Rule Could Do 2 Years For Weapon Possession

Ja Rule will have to wait another month before he’s sentenced on weapons charges. The rapper was in a New York courtroom on Wednesday where he had his sentencing pushed back until March 9th. Ja Rule pleaded guilty last December to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He is expected to receive two years behind bars for the crime. Ja’s legal troubles stem from his arrest in 2007 following a concert at New York’s Beacon Theater. Police conducted a search of the emcee’s vehicle and found a semi-automatic handgun inside the car. Lil Wayne was also arrested on weapons charges following the same concert and wound up spending eight months in Rikers Island last year. SMH

Dorrough Arrested In DEA Bust

Texas rapper Dorrough was reportedly arrested on Tuesday morning. DEA agents raided the emcee’s Dallas home due to suspected drug trafficking. An insider says ten law enforcement officials kicked in Dorrough’s door with weapons drawn, although they reportedly didn’t find any drugs or weapons on the property. It is not known what charges Dorrough is facing, although the source says he’s hired a powerful group of lawyers, one of which “is a Senator.” The insider adds, quote, “Dorrough will make a formal statement with plans to clear his name later this week.” Rapper are under some serious surveillance these days, they might want to keep a low profile and do they dirt on the under.

Lil Wayne Avoids Another Tax Lien

Last June, the IRS filed a one-point-two-million-dollar tax lien against the rap superstar in Dade County, Florida Circuit Court for taxes owed from the years 2004, 2005, and 2007. According to AllHipHop.com, Weezy took care of the debt back in December by paying the bill in full. This isn’t the first time that Lil Wayne has faced tax problems. He also had a lien filed against him in 2008. The rapper took care of the issue in a matter of months by paying more than 977-thousand-dollars in back taxes. Lil Wayne is all squared away with Uncle Sam...for now anyway. Weezy is currently working on his upcoming album, “Tha Carter Four,” due in stores later this year. He’s also set to kick off a North American tour on March 18th with a show in Buffalo, New York.
