Asheley Jewell Is Still In Critical Condition But She's Improving

 

UPDATE:

Asheley Jewell, daughter of A.J. Jewell, remains in critical condition almost a week after being shot in the head. She is however showing of improvement which is encouraging.

“She is still technically listed as critical, but she does seem to recognize her mom’s voice, and she makes attempts to follow simple commands they give her, like to squeeze their hands,” her cousin, Ebony Phillips, told the AJC. “She can’t really do it physically but there’s a cognitive foundation they might be able to build on.”
Jewell still has a lot of swelling in her brain and is sedated most of the time, Phillips said. But she added: “We’re very, very thankful” for the progress. – Source

The family will hold a vigil Saturday at 7 p.m. at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 5549 Old National Highway in College Park.
